A rainy winter wedding at 9 Oaks Farm

McKenzie and Xane were both living in Milledgeville, Georgia and happened to get a job at Dunkin’ Donuts. Xane worked weekends and McKenzie worked weekdays. However, one day they ended up working a shift together and hit it off right away! They did not know that it was going to be the start of something so great… their love story.

I met McKenzie and Xane through another one of my couples, Kenna and Jack. For their engagement session, McKenzie and Xane wanted photos around Athens, a place that holds a very special place in my heart. We strolled around my favorite town and got to know each other. It was such a perfect day.

McKenzie and Xane are two of the most genuine, down-to-earth people I’ve ever met and so easy going, which was a real blessing when it rained their entire wedding day. It didn’t phase McKenzie and Xane at all! They were willing to go out in the rain for a few photos and I am so thankful for that.

A couple of my favorite moments from their wedding day:

• Seeing the bridesmaid’s reaction to McKenzie’s gorgeous dress
• Speaking of bridesmaids, McKenzie and Xane’s wedding was unique because most of their bridal party was their family members!
• Seeing McKenzie walk down the aisle to her man
• One of their family members presented McKenzie and Xane a sword (!!) to them to cut their cake with
• Then when they fed each other the cake… well… you just need to scroll and watch the progression of that. It cracked me up when it happened!

Congratulations McKenzie and Xane! Wishing you lots of love, laughter, and donuts!
