A surprise proposal in Piedmont Park

My sweet friend Mike and I met way back in the hallways of Ramblewood Middle School in Coral Springs, FL. He and I shared tons of classes together and our friendship grew over our middle and high school years. He was invited to my Sweet 16 (which was really all the rage then thanks to MTV) and I just remember him rockin’ some serious sideburns. They were awesome.

After college and post-graduate life, Mike moved up to the Atlanta area right as my husband and I were transitioning out of our ATL life. We didn’t have a chance to hang out since college but when Mike asked me to get together to chat about him proposing to his girlfriend, it was like we never skipped a beat! It was such a joy to capture this incredible moment for a dear friend of mine! Funny story – right before Mike and Lindsey got to the spot where he was going to propose, my friend Alice and I had cleared people out… and then not ONE but TWO couples having their engagement photos taken went down to the overlook… right when Mike and Lindsey walked up!! Thank goodness Mike winged it and walked Lindsey around some more while Alice and I politely told the other two photographers that we were about to photograph a surprise proposal. A big thanks to those photographers and their couples for being so gracious!

Mike and Lindsey met at the Jewish Federation during a retreat where they were training to become certified staff on the Birthright trip. After the retreat, their relationship continued to flourish. They’ve been together for about three years and love to travel together!

Once I met Lindsey, I knew instantly why Mike wanted to marry her – she is AWESOME! I could have photographed these two all day long! Mazel Tov, you two and thank you for letting me be a part of this INCREDIBLE day!
