A Spring Wedding at Magnolia Mule Barn

Sam and Nicole were both living in Jefferson Lakeside apartments which is located in Marietta, GA. They lived across the hall from each other and spent 3-4 nights a week hanging out. They would stay up anywhere between midnight until it was time for Nicole to leave for work the next morning. During this time they would sit on the couch and jam to music or sit at the high top table on his tall chairs and just talk about life. Both remember coming home from work each night so anxious and hopeful to see each others car in the parking lot. They spent many nights at the local Mazzys playing pool. Can you guess who won?

Their relationship had been long distance for about 2 years. Sam was living in Warner Robins and Nicole was living in Woodstock. Every weekend one of them would travel to the other and wake up very early to make it to work on time Monday morning. After two years of this, they got tired of the long distance and decided they would take the next step and move in together. That meant Nicole would be moving to the good ole Warner Vegas. 🙂

All of these weekends were filled with them hanging out with friends or family, and they realized they weren’t spending enough “us” time. Before moving from Woodstock, Sam suggested they take one last visit to North Georgia before Nicole moved south. They decided on the memorable winery called Ellijay River Vineyard. The vineyard is sentimental for the couple because on their first trip together, they visited this place and fell in love. And that is where he decided to propose.

On the day of the proposal, Sam was adamant about getting a photo together. Nicole was confused but didn’t think anything of it. They were getting a bottle of wine and as they were walking away, Sam approached another woman and asked her to take a photo of the couple standing in front of the vineyard. He quickly also added that he would be be proposing so he asked her to keep snapping photos until it was over.

Sam got down on one knee and asked Nicole to marry him. Nicole was so excited she snatched the ring and placed it on her right ring finger. As the couple of was approaching the lady who took the photos, Nicole noticed the ring was on the wrong finger and quickly switched it.

After the proposal, they drove down to sit riverside to sip on some more wine and discussed all the questions Nicole had. Did you ask my dad? Who knew about this? Did you talk to my mom? What about my siblings? Wait… is this real life????

Once they left the winery, they FaceTimed all of their friends and family members to let them know of this unforgettable day! May 25, 2019 is a day that will go down in history for these two!

Nicole and Sam had originally planned to get married on March 28, 2020. With the pandemic, their plans changed, and they decided to have a small ceremony on March 27, 2020 with a reception a year later. Everything was so unknown a year ago! Their wedding day finally arrived and I was so thrilled to be able to celebrate with them. Nicole’s dress fit her like a glove and her cathedral veil took everyone’s breath away. Sam looked handsome in his gray suit. The entire wedding party was a BLAST to work with, and so was the vendor team! Ooh La La Catering decked out the barn, Michelle and Jennifer kept everything moving smoothly, and Party Man brought down the house during the reception. My favorite part of their wedding, aside from the actual ceremony, was when their guests lifted them up on chairs during the reception. I knew their reception would be a P-A-R-T-Y and boy, was it!

Congratulations, Nicole and Sam! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness and Piper snuggles!
