Hi friends and welcome to my blog!
I’m Stephanie, a senior and family portrait photographer based in Macon, Georgia. Here on the blog, you'll find recent sessions, tips and tricks, and personal stories. Feel free to take a look around. Thanks for stopping by!
Deciding on a location for your senior pictures can be challenging, so let me help you narrow down your options! The biggest take away from this post is that YOU are the focus of your senior photos, and that the background really doesn’t matter all that much. I have taken pictures all over Macon, and some locations you might not think could be magical, but when the lighting is right, and you feel your most confident self, we can truly make magic happen.
Without further ado, here are a few of my favorite spots to work in!
Coleman Hill is my most-photographed location. It offers greenery, a building, and a gorgeous patio! I like to utilize the Woodruff House along with the front yard for a variety in your photos. The lighting here is beautiful in the morning and night, and even when it’s overcast, it provides a stunning backdrop for your senior photos.
Amerson River Park offers a lot of variety with greenery and the Overlook near the water. There are sidewalks that reflect light back to your face beautifully, easy parking, and a restroom by the playground. I also love photographing here in the fall!
Tattnall Square Park (and Mercer University right across the street) is a great place for a session! The fountain is an iconic location, and with lots of shade, we’re sure to find a great spot for photos.
Macon City Auditorium
Macon City Auditorium and its surrounding areas provide a gorgeous backdrop to make you pop!
Near Macon Terminal Station/Tubman Museum
This area is funky and industrial. There is now a mural around the arches for fun pops of color!
Spanish Moss area
This is a special residential area that I absolutely love. Note: these trees don’t always look like this, so I would want to drive by before promising a session there!
Wesleyan College is a beautiful location, especially near the pond and the arboretum!
Jackson Springs Park hosts a gorgeous walkway, a creek, and a pretty fence! Fun fact: these were taking in the middle of the day, around 3pm, so I can only imagine what sunset would look like here!
Washington Park offers a fun staircase with smaller staircases to the side. We got very lucky with these flowers in early June, so do keep that in mind while booking! Without the flowers, it can be a little bland, so you might want to consider this to be one stop during our session while choosing another location nearby.
I can always find gorgeous light on your campus and make your personality shine!
In order of appearance: Stratford Academy, Jones County High School, Mount de Sales, and Mercer University
I love to photograph clients at their home, or at a location that is special to you, especially if the lighting is gorgeous!
